11/9/08

Ok, here is an update. Like I said before, I can only grab the last 5 runs... so here they are. Also, I have been dealing with some lovely shin splints since starting back. However, I have gotten new shoes and done lots of icing and stretching (and running) over the last two weeks and it seems to be getting better. Unfortunately they caused me to miss my long run last Sunday. I guess the good news is that last week and this week were supposed to be the exact same mileage. Hopefully missing that one run won't hurt me too much in the end.

I'm Back

All right... I'm back. I am going to try to keep this thing updated with my progress all the way up to the half marathon in January. I started my 12 week training course last Monday and so far I am sticking to it... think I may have been a little short on 1 run. Anyway, Nike+ will only let me grab the code for my last 5 runs so here they are (you have to click on the little grey arrow to see previous runs). Stay tuned for daily posts.

I have no idea what day it is supposed to be...

Ok, been a while. Was teaching a training class last week which took up all of my running time. I posted Monday's run and then tried to run on Friday in the 100 degree hear... needless to say that did not go so well. I didn't even attempt to run over the weekend as we were at the beach. I ran two miles today which I was particularly proud of seeing as though I had the stomach bug yesterday (terrible). Well, so I logged onto iTunes to upload those last two runs and wouldn't you know, they are no longer there. I have no idea what happened to them... I know it doesn't sound too believable, but it's the truth. Anyway, planning to run with the Trak Shak groups tomorrow... short and slow. Anyway, will post that run and let you all know how it goes. Stay tuned.

Day 7

Max and I took a nice run tonight. Once again I set the Ipod for a 10k but didn't complete it. This was more of the 7.5k. Better than the Zero k I guess. Anyway, probably won't run again until Wednesday... talk to you all then.

Day Six - Sort Of

Ok, haven't run since last Tuesday or so (whenever the last post was). As I previously mentioned, I left my shoes in North Carolina while we were there for Memorial Day. Also, as I have previously mentioned my mom sent them to me via UPS. Well, they had yet to arrive at our house when we left to go out of town on Thursday so I didn't run at all until today. Lesson of the week??? When considering what Brown can do for you... be sure to consider how hard they can screw you as well. Ok, enough of that... Tate and I went for a run this afternoon which was cut short by the threat of rain. I set the Ipod for a 10k and almost got 5 in before the thunder cranked up. This may not have been the worst thing in the world as the leg is still a little sore. Additionally, note that I am now 8 miles behind in getting to my goal of 60 miles in 4 weeks (really only 6 since I ran 2 with my old shoes but the Ipod automatically considers me to be a liar and refuses to count those miles). Hopefully I will have more for you all in the morning. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Day 5

No graphs for Day 5 as I left my shoes in NC last weekend. My sent them via UPS and were supposed to be here yesterday. Guess what, still not here. So, I put on my old shoes and ran 2 miles (miserable). It was like running on rocks. Anyway, hopefully UPS will come through today and I will be able to post a good Day 6 run.
